The senior artists met with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Bogor Presidential Palace. Indro ‘Warkop’ as one of the senior artists who attended the meeting stated that he was ready to escort Jokowi to the end of his term by providing positive and negative inputs.
“Meanwhile, we will also continue to guard or guard Mr. Jokowi until the end of his term of office, by providing not only positive input, maybe negative things,” Indro said in a video broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat account, Wednesday (23/2/ 2022).
Indro said the moment of meeting with Jokowi was an honor. During the meeting, he conveyed a number of aspirations regarding culture.
“We conveyed our aspirations regarding cultural matters, how culture strengthens a unity, how culture enriches our diversity. And we also convey several things apart from how the cultural infrastructure is here. And Mr. Jokowi also advised that all will accommodated,” said Indro.
Meanwhile, one of the Bimbo group personnel, namely Samsudin Hardjakusumah alias Sam Bimbo, conveyed about the program ‘knitting the archipelago’. He wanted to save the letters that might have been lost.
“Even so, today we just finished the archipelago knitting program. Where we made, we saved by singing letters that may be lost. Sundanese letters, Javanese letters, Balidan letters, there are dozens of tribal letters in Indonesia,” said Sam Bimbo.
He then conveyed President Jokowi’s statement about Indonesia, which consists of dozens of colorful ethnic groups. He hopes that the Indonesian people can take care of it.
“So even though now there are only 3, God willing, more will be drawn. And now that it has been included in UNICEF, the world has been recognized. So if you are Balinese, I am Sundanese, I can send you typed in Sundanese script on your laptop. You answered I speak Balinese. So today’s technology is already extraordinary,” he said.
Another senior artist, Ida Royani, said Jokowi also explained about the development of the Nusantara IKN. He supports efforts to move the capital city.
“We support all of Mr. Jokowi’s programs, especially the program in Kalimantan, to make a new capital city. God willing, we have seen a very good view. Hopefully later all Indonesian people can travel there, we can travel there for see a new city,” said Ida.
