Jakarta –
As many as 99% of the world’s population breathes highly polluted air, and in 2022 carbon dioxide emissions will even reach a record high. Mangrove plants have important benefits in overcoming personal pollution which increasingly threatens human breathing.
Not only do they help reduce air pollution, mangroves also have various ecological benefits such as preventing abrasion and reducing tsunami impacts, and can be used as tourist areas.
This understanding is what Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (IOH) is trying to promote through the science fiction film entitled Jaga Raya. As part of the Plant Oxygen campaign, this film is a manifestation of Indosat’s commitment to help preserve the environment.
SVP – Head of Corporate Communications IOH Steve Saerang said that the short film shown on Indosat YouTube is a reflection of our responsibility towards environmental sustainability.
“This is also part of education so that Indonesian people understand more about the important role of mangroves as pollution biofilters and oxygen producers,” said Steve in his written statement.
“And through this film we hope to help increase public awareness to continue to contribute to maintaining clean air,” added Steve.
Through the launch of the Oxygen Planting program and the science fiction film ‘Jaga Raya’, Indosat invites the public to take an active role in maintaining the sustainability of the mangrove ecosystem in Indonesia.
Clean air is increasingly rare, so Indosat wants to invite the public to contribute by taking real action in the Planting Oxygen program.
In this program, the public can participate directly by purchasing mangrove seeds (Rp. 80,000 per tree) at ioh.co.id/tanamoksigen.
