TORINO. A necessity that becomes an opportunity. So the Valentino is turning into an open-air gym. We are not only talking about do-it-yourself sports, but also about real organized group lessons, held by the instructors keeping safe distances. If the gyms remain closed, then the hours of gymnastics move to the lawns and long the walks that run along the river. Thanks also to the good weather, these days inside the park the outdoor lessons held by instructors and personal trainers continue to multiply. A breath of fresh air for a few hours not only for sports fans, but also for all those people who have not been able to work in recent months.
«My lessons are held every Tuesday during the lunch break – explains Emanuele Enria, Feldenkrais instructor – I teach practices that require method: this acts by reorganizing in a functional way the movements and actions we perform in daily life. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, I was no longer able to take lessons in the centers where I teach: so I tried to reinvent myself in this way, even if we are in the orange zone. Obviously I don’t have the same number of subscribers as before the virus, but at least that’s how we work ».
A good response from users who have decided not to give up sport, despite the limitations: “My students, as soon as they learned that they would restart the lessons, practically all signed up – says Maria Cristina Fontanelle of Belfiore Danza – Only one 20 percent decided not to continue. We are present at Valentino from Monday to Thursday, from 6pm to 9pm. We are managing to work with great seriousness and commitment: the open spaces offer serenity. This is a winning move to keep working ».
Thus the park also becomes a new way to keep fit and socialize. And many instructors say they have reached new customers thanks to the Valentino showcase: «This solution allows us to move forward – confirms Alice, cardio circuit teacher – We, to be honest, have never stopped. Already this winter, despite the cold temperatures, we continued to work because many felt the need to train. Once discovered, sport is not something you can give up ». —
