Indonesia’s Youth and Sports Minister, Dito Ariotedjo, has announced plans to create a scholarship program focused on sports as a way to advance human resources in the Indonesian sports ecosystem. The program will be designed under the Education Endowment Fund (LPDP), and details and the scholarship’s mechanism will be formulated after discussions with stakeholders. The aim of the program is to give Indonesian athletes a definite future and knowledge of self-development that can be used in sports and for the lives of athletes. This program has come as a response to Law No.21/2022 concerning the Grand Design of National Sports (DBON), which states that one of the awards given to outstanding athletes is in the form of scholarships.
