In Indonesia, based on Trading Economics data, the retirement age is the youngest among other G20 countries. Italy is the country with the oldest retirement age in the G20 countries, namely 68 years for both women and men. This position is followed by the Netherlands, Australia, the United States, Spain and the United Kingdom, which have an average retirement age of over 66 years. Above Indonesia, there are Turkey, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, India and China which have an average retirement age of 55-60 years.

Meanwhile in Indonesia, provisions related to retirement age are regulated in Government Regulation Number 45 of 2015 Article 15 paragraphs 1-3. Referring to these regulations, the retirement age limit in Indonesia is 58 years with the maximum retirement age being 65 years.
