President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that in the next one to two weeks RI will enter its term Covid endemic. In the endemic period, the government will no longer bear the cost of treatment if exposed to Covid.
“Within a week or two, we will declare that we are in endemic. Be careful if you have entered endemic, if you get COVID-19, you will pay,” Jokowi said at the National Meeting of the Row of Change Road Volunteers (Bara JP) at the Salak Hotel, Bogor City, West Java, Sunday (18/6/2023).
During nearly 10 years as President, Jokowi revealed that his hard work was handling Covid.
“Really, we don’t know when it will end, in what way it will be completed, and how strong this will be for how many months, how many years, we don’t know,” he explained.
According to Jokowi, the success in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic is something to be grateful for. He returned to remembering the difficult times at the start of COVID-19.
“We remember that at first we fought over masks with all countries, the price was up to Rp. 500,000, we bought medicine until it went up 20 times to 30 times, buying vaccines was also the same, and that was a scramble. Luckily we listed it up front,” he said.
