The qualifications for the 2026 World Cup in the Asian zone can be said to be quite long. Because, there are five rounds of qualifying before the Asian representatives will be selected to play in the 2026 World Cup.

So, Indonesia has to fight starting from the first round. This is because Indonesia is included in the category of 20 countries with the lowest FIFA ranking compared to other Asian countries.

When the 2026 Asian Cup Qualification draw was held, Indonesia was in 150th position in the FIFA ranking. This position made Jordi Amat and his colleagues have to start the qualifying round from round 1.

Malaysia and Vietnam are included in the Top 26 countries with the best FIFA rankings. Malaysia is in 24th position in Asia with a FIFA ranking of 136. Meanwhile, Vietnam is in 15th position with a FIFA ranking of 95.
