Indonesia’s National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) has called on village heads in the country to use the four funding sources available to them to reduce the prevalence of stunting in their regions. The prevalence rate of stunting in Indonesia currently stands at 21.6%, with an estimated 4.6 million children affected, according to BKKBN Head Hasto Wardoyo. He urged village heads to make use of funding sources such as the Family Hope Program (PKH) assistance, Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), Special Allocation Fund (DAK) and Village Fund to tackle stunting. Wardoyo also called for the accurate recording of details for toddlers whose height and weight were far below standard, and who did not receive PKH assistance.
