Indonesia’s national esports team for the Crossfire game is currently undergoing intensive training in Hangzhou, China in preparation for the upcoming 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia. The training camp forms a crucial part of PBESI’s (Indonesian Esports Central Board’s) commitment to enhancing the skills and strategic competence of the team. The training program is taking place at a cutting-edge esports hotel managed by Tencent, a leading technology and entertainment company in China. The team will engage in various match-ups with strong Chinese teams to sharpen their technical skills and mental readiness.
“The national team has been undergoing intensive training since February 2023 at the national training center held at the Bellezza, Jakarta,” said PBESI’s Secretary General, Frengky Ong. He expressed optimism that with the good preparation and support from professionals, the team would achieve excellent results at the multi-sport event.
Crossfire is one of the long-standing and popular FPS games in Indonesia’s esports scene. The national team previously won the bronze medal at the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam in 2021. Head of Indonesia’s Esports National Team, Yohannes Paraloan Siagian, believes that this achievement has boosted the team’s confidence to achieve even greater success this year.
Siagian expressed his optimism that, with up-to-date facilities and opportunities for match-ups with reputable teams, this year’s Crossfire national team will be even more competitive at the 32nd SEA Games. The team’s participation in the training camp is a strategic move towards attaining better competitiveness and securing their place as the best team at the 32nd SEA Games.
