Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Indonesia’s mining commodities have become one of the country’s mainstays in bringing in significantly increased state revenues. In fact, actual state revenue from the mining sector will reach IDR 155.75 trillion in 2022.
In this sector, tin and nickel are listed as Indonesia’s advantages in terms of the largest reserves in the world. As for gold, Indonesia is listed as the owner of the 6th largest reserves in the world.
Even though it only occupies the 6th position in gold reserves, Indonesia is listed as the owner of the 1st largest gold mine. This mine itself is owned by MIND ID Mining SOE Holding.
MIND ID Main Director Hendi Prio Santoso said MIND ID’s subsidiaries engaged in gold mining include PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) and PT Freeport Indonesia.
Apart from gold, MIND ID is also ranked 4th as the world’s largest nickel ore producer, 3rd largest mine in the world, and 2nd largest tin producer in the world.
“The MIND ID Group operates in 17 provinces in Indonesia and globally ranks as the 4th largest nickel ore producer in the world, the 1st largest gold mine in the world, the 3rd largest copper mine in the world, and the 3rd largest tin producer. 2 in the world,” said Hendi quoted on Saturday (26/8/2023).
With the size of the mine, Hendi revealed that his party would also secure various other minerals such as lithium which is used as raw material for electric vehicle batteries.
On the other hand, Hendi does not deny that if there are disruptions or shortages in mineral supplies, this could have an impact on soaring commodity prices and could hinder the development of environmentally friendly energy products.
In order to prevent supply depletion, his party will also continue to intensify mining exploration, so that in the end it can maintain the availability of various kinds of minerals.
“MIND ID is currently carrying out an aggressive exploratory movement to pay attention to the reserve replacement ratio,” he concluded.
