In the match at Hi-Tech Zone Sports Center, Chengdu, China, Saturday (4/5/2024), Fajar/Rian lost the first game. However, they eventually recovered and won 16-21, 21-19, 21-18 over the 2020 Olympic champions.

Fajar/Rian led 11-5 at the interval. After the interval, Lee / Wang got closer to 9-11 by winning four points in a row.
Fajar/Rian had pulled away 16-11. However, Lee/Wang closed the gap again by winning four points in a row.
Fajar/Rian reached match point first at 20-16. After failing twice to lock up victory, Fajar/Rian eventually won 21-18.
