Indonesian Young Badminton Player Az-Zahra Putri Dania Dies


KOMPAS.com — PP PBSI conveys sad news over the death of a young Indonesian badminton athlete, Az-Zahra Putri Dania.

The athlete who was born on July 28, 2004 died on Monday (27/2/2023) due to illness.

“The PP PBSI extended family expresses its deepest condolences for the passing of one of Indonesia’s young athletes,” PBSI wrote via upload on Instagram.

“Az-Zahra Putri Dania breathed her last today, 27 February 2023 due to illness,” PBSI continued.

Dania, the late nickname, joined the PBSI National Training Center in Cipayung in 2022.

Previously, Dania had won the national selection event together with Rafli Ramanda in the cadet mixed doubles category.

“Dania joined the National Training Center in 2022 after winning the National Selection event with his partner Rafli Ramanda in the cadet mixed doubles category,” PBSI wrote.

Another achievement made by Dania was being part of the Indonesian junior team at the 2022 Suhandinata Cup which was held in Santander, Spain.

Dania contributed to donating a bronze medal for Indonesia at the 2022 Suhandinata Cup.

“He was also part of the Indonesian junior team that won a bronze medal at the 2022 Suhandinata Cup which took place in Santander, Spain,” PBSI wrote.

“May his acts of worship be accepted by Allah SWT and the family he left behind be given perseverance. Amen. Farewell, Dania!”
