Jung Kwan Jang Red Sparks which is strengthened by Indonesian female volleyball players Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi suffered a 0-3 defeat to Gimcheon Korea Expressway Hi Pass in the Korean Volleyball League follow-up match at the Chungmu Gymnasium Stadium, Daejeon, Thursday (2/11).

Red Sparks immediately fell behind 2-5 to Hi Pass at the start of the first set. Hi Pass, led by Vanja Bukilic, was even able to maintain the lead to a score of 10-2.

Red Sparks is slowly getting up. Megawati and friends started to gain points to reduce the gap to 7-11.

However, Hi Pass was able to maintain their lead again with a score of 15-18. Megawati smashed several times which resulted in points for the Red Sparks but Hi Pass was unstoppable in the first set to win 25-21.

Red Sparks again fell behind Hi Pass with a score of 2-4 at the start of the second set. Bukilic has really been a nightmare for the Red Sparks.

The powerful smash from the Serbian volleyball player was really difficult for Red Sparks to stop, which put Hi Pass ahead 12-8.

Red Sparks is slowly getting up. From behind, the Red Sparks were able to bring the score closer to 13-14 thanks to Giovanna Milana’s neat contribution.

Hi Pass was able to keep the lead back to 18-15. In a difficult situation, the Red Sparks were able to thin the score thanks to the three points contributed by Megawati to make the score 19-20.

The clash between the two teams was tight until entering the end of the second set. However, Hi Pass was able to appear calm to close the second set with a score of 25-22.

Red Sparks started the third set well. A failed smash from Bukilic put the Red Sparks ahead 4-2.

Megawati became the motor of the Red Sparks attack in the third set. Red Sparks scored a number of points thanks to Mega’s hard smash which Hi Pass couldn’t stop, who was able to lead 15-13.

The match got tighter towards the end of the third set. Red Sparks, who had been ahead, actually fell behind with a score of 17-19.

Megawati managed to score points for the Red Sparks. However, Ko Hee Jin’s team was unable to stop Hi Pass from winning 25-20 in the third set.
