Indonesian U-24 National Team must maximize the available squad to compete in Asian Games 2022. Coach Indra Sjafri asking for prayers and community support.
Garuda Muda summoned 22 players for the Asian Games which were held in China. In the last week of training, only 15 players followed the preparation menu.
A total of seven other players followed to China because several clubs asked for permission because they needed the services of their players in League 1 2023. Of the seven players, only four players followed, namely Alfeandra Dewangga, Ananda Rehan, M. Irianto, George Brown.
There are still three players Indonesia Others who have not yet joined are Ramadhan Sananta, Kadek Arel, and Beckham Putra. Even though the U-24 National Team will play its first match against Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday (19/9/2023).
“We ask for prayers from the Indonesian football community. Thank you very much to the clubs who have allowed their players, even though they have a shortage of players to play matches in the competition,” said Indra Sjafri in his statement.
“Thank you very much for helping our Red and White interests. The important thing now is that my team and I will focus on facing this Asian Games, with all the players here,” he said.
Kadek and Beckham are reportedly injured so they won’t be able to follow up any time soon. Specifically, it has been confirmed that Sananta will not go to China because Persis Solo lacks strikers.
Exactly in his statement he said that Sananta was the team’s last hope because the other three strikers could not play. Irfanjauhari was injured in the U-23 national team, Arkhan Kaka went to Germany with the U-17 national team, while Fernando Rodriguez was on family business in Spain.
That way there are only 19 players ready to defend National team U-24 at the Asian Games. This number has not been reduced by the four players who just followed.
