Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Attacker Indonesian U-20 National Team Ronaldo Kwateh said the players were starting to be able to breathe well in the cold weather in Uzbekistan which hosted the U-20 Asian Cup.
Ronaldo Kwateh explained the condition of the team ahead of the first match in Group A of the U-20 Asian Cup against Iraq on Wednesday (1/3).
According to him, the players are now starting to be able to breathe more comfortably in the very cold weather conditions in Uzbekistan.
According to him, the process of adaptation and acclimatization to cold weather in Uzbekistan went smoothly.
“Praise God we can get here safely and also here the weather is quite cold so we have adapted,” said Ronaldo as quoted from PSI page.
“Friends have also started to feel better in terms of breathing and everything, and hopefully we will adapt quickly and in tomorrow’s match it can be even better,” said Ronaldo.
The U-20 Indonesian national team lives, trains and competes in the city of Tashkent, which currently has temperatures between 2-14 degrees Celsius.
Ronaldo Kwateh also raised the morale of his colleagues before facing Iraq. He stated that the Garuda Nusantara team should not be afraid in front of their opponents.
The U-20 Indonesian National Team will start their steps in Group A of the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup by challenging Iraq at the Lokomotiv Stadium, Tashkent, Wednesday (1/3).
Even though Iraq is superior on paper, that doesn’t mean that Indonesia doesn’t have a chance to win.
Garuda Nusantara has made careful preparations by holding a training camp or TC in Jakarta for three weeks.
Hugo Samir and his friends also tested the strength of three participants in the 2023 U-20 World Cup, namely Fiji, New Zealand and Guatemala, in an international mini tournament at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium, Jakarta.
“Surely they are a good team, but we shouldn’t be afraid before the match. We better focus on our team so we can give our best,” said Ronaldo.
