Indonesian Soldier Letsda Josh Marulam Wins Gold Medal in Sniper Education at Army Infantry College

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Soldiers or young officers from the Raider Infantry Battalion 751/Vira Jaya Sakti Kodam XVII/Cenderawasih, Letda (Inf) Josh Marulam won a gold medal in sniper education at the Army Infantry College of PLA, Shijiazhuang, Hebei, China, Wednesday (12 /7/2023).

Letda Josh Marulam outperformed 37 other international students from 12 countries in Asia, namely Malaysia, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Mongolia, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Nepal.

Yonif 751/VJS Commander Lieutenant Colonel (Inf) Untung Iswahyudi said he was proud of the achievements of his members in the international arena.

“Of course this is something to be proud of, because Letda Inf Josh departed not only with the name of the unit, but also with the good name of the TNI on the international stage,” said Untung, quoted from the official statement of the Puspen TNI, Friday (14/7/2023).

Danyonif hoped that all the knowledge that Josh had acquired during his education would be of benefit to himself and others.

“Hopefully the knowledge that has been obtained during the 4.5 months of studying there can be of benefit to oneself, the unit and the TNI,” said Untung.

Meanwhile, Commander of the Major Meng Xiang Nan Sniper School in his remarks at the closing expressed his gratitude to all international students who took part in the education.

“On behalf of the People’s Liberation Army, I would like to express my gratitude and pride for being able to organize an education where students come from 12 friendly countries,” said Xiang Nan.

“Hopefully after the closure of this education, friendly relations between all former students from various countries and the People’s Liberation Army can continue to be good,” he said.
