Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto made it through to the semifinals Japan Open 2023 after defeating their compatriots Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan in two straight games, Friday (28/7).
Fajar/Rian, who are the first seeds, were able to control the game from the start of the match. Fajar/Rian won four consecutive points to open the scoring.
Fajar/Rian’s domination continued until the first interval ended with a margin of eight points or a score of 11-3.
After the break, Fajar/Rian kept stepping on the gas and didn’t let Ahsan/Hendra get up. The first game also belonged to Fajar/Rian with a convincing score of 21-19.
Ahsan/Hendra tried to get up in the second game and didn’t let Fajar/Rian get far ahead. However, this time The Daddies couldn’t match Fajar/Rian’s speed.
Fajar/Rian also successfully closed the match after winning the second game with a score of 21-13.
This result made Fajar/Rian qualify for the semifinals of the Japan Open 2023 while also ensuring a head to head advantage over Ahsan/Hendra.
Fajar/Rian have now won four out of a total of seven meetings against Ahsan Hendra in various events. Previously, Fajar/Rian also successfully defeated The Daddies in the 2023 All England final.
