Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Indonesia has two representatives in the quarter-finals China Masters 2023. The following is a list of Indonesian players who have qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2023 China Masters.
The first Indonesian players to qualify for the quarter-finals were Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin. Leo/Daniel qualified for the last eight after beating Danish veteran doubles, Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen.
In a fierce duel lasting 1 hour 3 minutes, Leo/Daniel won with a score of 21-18, 16-21, 21-11. This victory also broke the bad trend of Leo/Daniel, who lost their two previous matches against Astrup/Rasmussen.
After that Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan followed in Leo/Daniel’s footsteps. Like Leo/Daniel, Pram/Yere also advanced to the quarter-finals by defeating Denmark’s representatives, namely Rasmus Kjaer/Frederik Sogaard.
Pram/Yere appeared impressive and successfully won two straight games, 21-18, 21-16. They were able to confirm their quarter-final ticket in just 35 minutes.
Apart from the success of Leo/Daniel and Pram/Yere in reaching the quarter-finals, the last 16 match was less than encouraging for the Indonesian representatives.
There were only two representatives who qualified for the quarter-finals. Seven other representatives, namely Anthony Ginting, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, and Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja had to end their journey at round of 16.
