Jakarta –
Two prospective Indonesian presidential candidates, Ganjar Pranowo and Anies Baswedan, recently held a meeting with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Salman (MBS). The meeting took place on Thursday (29/6/2023), when the two of them were in Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage.
Crown Prince MBS is the son of Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdul Aziz, to be precise from his third wife Fahdah bint Falah bin Sultan. This man who was born in August 1985 has occupied the position of crown prince since June 21 2017. In 2022, he was officially appointed as Prime Minister (PM) of Saudi Arabia.
As reported on the CAKnowledge page, Saturday (1/7/2023), MBS has an estimated net worth of US$ 25 billion or the equivalent of Rp. 375 trillion (exchange rate of Rp. 15,000/US$). Most of the money comes from the Kingdom’s inheritance as well as from its dealings outside of Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile quoted from Zeenews, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia is reported to have a net worth of US$ 5 billion or the equivalent of Rp. 75 trillion. However, many speculate that the de facto Arab ruler may have a wealth of up to US $ 25 billion.
Apart from the royal heritage, MBS’ wealth also comes from various sources. The first is from shares of Aramco, one of the largest energy companies in the world. Some time ago, he also transferred Saudi Aramco shares to the Public Investment Fund (PIF) to increase foreign investment in the Kingdom’s energy sector. In addition, MBS has also purchased Premier League Club Newcastle in 2021.
According to his records, he also spent his wealth to invest in a number of luxury goods. In 2015, MBS spent US$ 299 million or the equivalent of Rp. 4.48 trillion to acquire the world’s most expensive property, namely Chateau Louis XIV in France. Then, in 2017, he also bought a superyatch named Serene for US$ 500 million or the equivalent of Rp. 7.5 trillion.
Not surprisingly, MBS has abundant wealth. This is also reflected in the wealth of his father and family. According to notes detikcomKing of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud occupies the position of the third richest king in the world with a net worth of US $ 18 billion or the equivalent of Rp. 270 trillion.
The royal family of Saudi Arabia is known to be the Saud Family. Overall, the combined net worth of the House of Saud is estimated at US$1.4 trillion or the equivalent of Rp.21,000 trillion. This amount is 16 times richer than the British Royal Family worth US $ 88 billion or the equivalent of Rp. 1,320 trillion.
