Fast Indonesian National team Of 2023 Asian Cup stopped in the round of 16. Garuda was removed Australia four goals without reply.
The round of 16 of the Asian Cup brings together Australia vs Indonesia. The match took place at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium, Sunday (28/1/2024) evening WIB.
The Indonesian national team was supposed to perform well in the first half. However, Australia succeeded in maximizing the opportunities available.
Australia took the lead through Elkan Baggott’s own goal in the 11th minute. The Socceroos doubled their lead on the stroke of half-time through Martin Boyle.
Indonesian National team failed to catch up in the second half. Instead of scoring a goal, Shin Tae-yong’s troops took the goal again twice.
Craig Goodwin broke into Indonesia’s goal in the 89th minute. Harry Souttar’s header in injury time ensured Australia won 4-0.
This result ensures that Indonesia will be the first team to lose in the 2023 Asian Cup. Australia advances to the quarter-finals and awaits the winner between Saudi Arabia vs South Korea.
Even though they failed to progress, the Indonesian National Team has at least set a record. The Red-Whites have qualified from the group phase for the first time during their participation in the Asian Cup.
