Indonesian National team considered less classy and not special by one commentator in Vietnam. However, the Garuda squad is said to know how to play well.
Indonesia won 1-0 over Vietnam in the Group D match 2023 Asian Cup. In the match at Abdullah bin Khalifa, Friday (19/1/2024), Asnawi Mangkualam’s penalty goal was the decisive winner.
With this defeat to Indonesia, Vietnam is certain to be eliminated from the 2023 Asian Cup. The Garuda squad won against Vietnam after fasting for victory in six matches with a record of three draws and three losses.
Vietnamese media, Soha, released an analysis of Vietnam’s defeat to Indonesia. They highlighted Indonesian players who play in Europe, as explained by Quang Huy.
“The reality is that Indonesia is already a compact team. Their players who come from Europe are not that classy, not that special, but they know how to kick the ball, play well, stand in the right position,” said Quang Huy in Vietnamese media, Soha .
“With their strength in Southeast Asia, dealing with players like that is tiring,” he added.
Indonesia will face Japan in the final match of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup. The match will take place at Al Thumama Stadium, Doha, Wednesday (24/1).
