Indonesia’s National Defense Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) have assured the safety of homecomers during the Eid al-Fitr holiday, allowing them to travel safely and comfortably to their hometowns. Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that the TNI and Polri are ready to provide security for those who are concerned about any potential criminal activity. The four-star general assured that security and homecoming flow service preparation is even better than previous years and that several strategies will be implemented to ensure a smooth journey, including traffic engineering such as contraflow, one-way, and odd-even policies. Around 123.8 million people are estimated to return home during the holiday, a 45% increase from the previous year, and all parties are expected to do their best to regulate and secure the homecoming flow. The TNI Commander and the Transportation Minister were also on board for an airborne inspection to oversee the flow of traffic from Jakarta-Merak Toll to Bakauheni Port, Lampung, to ensure the safe and secure execution of Eid al-Fitr 1444 H/2023.
