Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi visited OIC representatives to Moscow. Retno said that during the meeting, one of the things discussed was the attack on the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza.
“We were in Moscow for approximately 4 hours. The meeting with Foreign Minister Lavrov was warm and open. During the meeting, the OIC Foreign Ministers again conveyed their condemnation of what Israel was doing to Gaza,” said Retno in her statement, Wednesday (22/11/ 2023).
Retno said that during the meeting, she conveyed her actions self defence what Israel is doing is unacceptable. Retno mention this because self defence cannot be used as an excuse to kill civilians.
“I said at the meeting that Israel’s excuse that what is currently being done is ‘self-defense’ is completely unacceptable. First, because this reason cannot be used by colonialists like Israel. Second, the reason self defence cannot be made’a licence to kill civilian’cannot be used as an excuse to kill civilians and attack civilian facilities,” said Retno.
Retno also revealed several things that the OIC Foreign Ministers discussed with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Russia is said to have agreed to the resolution of the OIC-Arab League Summit.
“Russia also agrees with the points contained in the resolution of the OIC-Arab League Summit. We convey the importance of all countries looking clearly at the Gaza issue and taking a just stance. It is very urgent to take immediate action so that violence can be stopped, a ceasefire can be realized and humanitarian assistance can be provided smoothly or unhindered,” said Retno.
“For this, support is needed from many countries, especially permanent member countries of the UN Security Council, including Russia,” he continued.

Apart from that, Retno said that the attack carried out by Israel on the Indonesian Hospital in Gaza was also discussed at the meeting. Next, there will be a discussion regarding strategic steps to realize this two-state solution.
“The Israeli attack on the Indonesian Hospital was also discussed at the meeting,” said Retno.
“Also discussed are efforts to formulate strategic steps to realize ‘two-state solutionincluding the possibility of holding an International Conference on peace in Palestine,” he said.
During her visit, Retno was with the Foreign Ministers of Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt and Palestine. Retno and the OIC Foreign Ministers will then hold a meeting with Secretary David Cameroon regarding Gaza. Then continued his journey to Paris to hold a meeting with President Macron regarding the same issue.
