Indonesian men’s national volleyball team will face Kazakhstan in the 7-10th place decider in Asian Games 2023. The match will take place on Monday (25/9/2023).
Indonesia versus Kazakhstan is scheduled to take place at China Textile City Sports Center Gymnasium, Hangzhou, at 14.30 local time or 13.30 WIB.
This is the first match after the Red-White team failed to qualify for the quarter-finals after being eliminated by China in the round of 12. Indonesia lost to the hosts with a score of 1-3 (17-25, 17-25, 25-23, 22-25).
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan met Indonesia after successfully beating Taiwan with a score of 3-2 in the match for the 7-12th place in volleyball at the 2023 Asian Games, which took place on Sunday (24/9).
The manager of the Indonesian national volleyball team, Loudry Maspaitella, said Indonesia still had a chance to beat Kazakhstan. As long as the squad is able to reduce its own mistakes on the field. Apart from that, Kazakhstan has a tall body posture so Farhan Halim et al have to be wary of it.
The assistant coach of the Indonesian National Volleyball Team in the 2022 Asian Games, Erwin Rusni, emphasized the same thing. He said his team was ready to face anyone.
“Even though the Kazakhstan team has several new players, different from the teams competing in Taiwan (AVC Challenge) and Iran (Asian Volleyball Championship), we are still ready to face them,” said Erwin Rusni.
If the Indonesian men’s national volleyball team manages to beat Kazakhstan, then they will meet the winner of the match between South Korea and Thailand in the battle for seventh place at the 2023 Asian Games.
