“Indonesian Judo and Dragon Boat Teams Win Gold at 2023 SEA Games”

The judo and dragon boat sports won gold medals at the 2023 SEA Games on Sunday (14/5). The Indonesian contingent’s gold medals at the 2023 SEA Games total 62 pieces.

Indonesian athlete Dewa Kadek Rama Putra succeeded in donating a gold medal for Indonesia from the men’s Judo sport number 66 kilograms.

The achievement Kadek received was the 61st gold for the Indonesian contingent at the 2023 SEA Games. He succeeded in becoming the best after defeating the host Cambodia at the Chroy Changvar International Convention Center, Phnom Penh, Sunday (14/5).

“The 61st gold from Judo number 66 kg [Putra] Kadek Rama,” wrote NOC Indonesia’s statement.

Apart from Kadek Rama, the dragon boat team or traditional boat race also won a gold medal in the number 12 men’s 500 meter crew.

The Indonesian athletes who won gold medals from the number 12 crew of the men’s 500 meters were: Abdurrahim, Andri Agus, Anwar T, Harjuna, Indra H, Indra Tri, Joko Andriyanto, Maizir R, Mugiharjito, M Yunus, Rudiansyah, Sutrino, Tri Wahyu, and Yuda F.

With the addition of the two gold medals, the achievements of the Red and White representatives have exceeded the target of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora) before leaving for Cambodia.

Kemenpora is targeting 60 gold medals at the 2023 SEA Games. The 60th medal won by Juliana Klarisa from the weightlifting event in the women’s 55 kg number on the same day.

Juliana managed to defeat four other opponents in the final which was held at Taekwondo Hall, Olympic Complex, Phnom Penh.

The 20-year-old athlete recorded a total of 186 points, the details of which were 81 snatches plus 102 clean and jerks. Juliana passed the record of Filipino representative Rosalinda Baclas Faustino with 184 points from 80 snatches and 104 cleans.

Meanwhile, the host athlete Try Sopheakreach had to settle for bronze after recording 83 points from 36 snatches and 47 clean and jerks.
