Indonesian Hajj pilgrims will be served three meals a day, with Indonesian ingredients and flavours, during their pilgrimage. The Ministry of Religious Affairs has decided to provide breakfast, in addition to lunch and dinner, despite budget cuts. The ministry expects to serve 25 million boxes of food to 221,000 Indonesian Hajj pilgrims. To finance breakfast, the ministry is reducing hotel expenses to divert funds. The ministry understands the importance of breakfast in performing worship activities properly, and it wants to increase the Hajj pilgrims’ satisfaction index to 93%, up from 90.45% in 2022. The ministry has also reminded Hajj officers to carefully pay attention to catering risks that could affect pilgrims’ satisfaction.
