Jakarta

Indonesian FPU 4 troops have carried out a peace mission in Bangui, Republic Central Africa after serving for one year. MINUSCA Senior Representative Secretary General, Valentine Rugwabiza conveyed his praise for the troops FPU Indonesia.

“Overall you lived a unique and truly satisfying experience, overcoming challenges and difficulties with courage, dedication and with the noble aim of protecting civilians,” said Valentine Rugwabiza in his remarks on the sidelines of the medal parade at Camp Garuda Indonesia, Bangui , Thursday (7/8/2023).

Rugwabiza said that for the past few months Indonesian FPU troops have carried out the task of providing protection and escort for VIPs, guarding important facilities such as hospitals, and carrying out routine patrols in Bangui with the aim of creating a better population.

“Through this hard work, you contribute to securing and providing a sense of security in Bangui,” he added.

“Which is the key to rebuilding the community’s self-confidence to be greater and more peaceful in the future,” added Rugwabiza.

Rugwbiza commends the performance of FPU 4 Indonesia, which fully supports this mission.

“I would also like to commend two areas where you have shown tremendous support to the people of the Central African Republic and its security institutions,” he said.

FPU 4 Indonesia, he said, had participated highly in the blood donation campaign organized by UNPOL, “and your support for widows and orphans as a result of the conflict shows that a deep sense of solidarity and humanity is needed,” he said.

FPU’s Contribution to the Peace Mission

Meanwhile, the Kadiv Inter-Division of the National Police, Inspector General Krishna Murti, who was also present at the award ceremony, was an appreciation for the mission carried out by FPU 4 Indonesia. This is a big momentum for MINUSCA.

“By expressing appreciation from the SRSG and the Deputy Police Commissioner, it gives us the enthusiasm to make FPU better than it already is,” said Krishna Murti.

During the award ceremony, Krishna Murti made a courtesy call with the SRSG. On that occasion, Krishna conveyed to the SRSG that Polri had carried out peace missions since 1989 in dozens of missions.

“And we convey, this is not the first time we have contributed to world peace and we are ready to contribute more and the Chief of Police has conveyed this,” added the two-star general.
