Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri won the civil war to reach the final Orleans Masters 2023. Three other Indonesian representatives stopped in the semifinals.
Bagas/Fikri beats Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Martin in a match at the Palais des Sports, Sunday (9/4/2023) early morning WIB. Bagas/Fikri comeback from defeat in the first game before finally winning with a score of 13-21, 21-18, 23-21.
The former All England champion will next face Chinese representatives Chen Bo Yang/Liu Yi in the match for the championship title. This match also marked the first meeting of the two pairs.
Bagas/Fikri were the only Indonesian representatives in the 2023 Orleans Masters final. Following the defeat of three other ‘Red and White’ representatives.
Mixed doubles, Adnan Maulana/Nita Violina Marwah, were forced to admit the superiority of Taiwan representatives Ye Hong Wei/Lee Chia Shin in a three-game duel. Adnan/Nita won the first game despite having to go home early after losing 21-18, 17-21, 12-21.
Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati followed Adnan/Nita’s failure. Rehan/Lisa were unable to stop the seventh seed from Malaysia Chen Tang Jie/Toh Ee Wei with a score of 10-21, 16-21.
Meanwhile, the women’s doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto became the butt of Liu Sheng Shu/Tan Ning from China. Lanny/Rebekah lost badly with the score 8-21, 12-21.
