Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan advance to the semifinals Arctic Open 2023. The Indonesian doubles eliminated the Ondrej Kral/Adam Mendrek pair 21-10, 19-21, 21-10.
Playing on Court 3 Energia Arena, Vantaa, Finland, Saturday (14/10/2023) early morning WIB, Ahsan/Hendra started the game well. The Indonesian senior doubles were able to win 21-10 in the first round.
In the second game, Ahsan/Hendra got a surprise when Kral/Mendrek put up resistance. Able to chase points, the Czech Republic doubles finally won 21-19, forcing the rubber game.
In the deciding game, Ahsan/Hendra were able to dominate. A 21-10 victory was obtained, ensuring the Red and White representatives would qualify for the semifinals.
This result means that Indonesia is still breathing Arctic Open 2023. Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan became the only remaining representative, after Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan stopped in the quarterfinals.
Pram/Yere failed to overcome obstacles from the Malaysian doubles, Man Wei Chong/Kai Wun Tee. The Indonesian doubles lost two straight games 20-22, 18-21.
Semifinal ArArctic Open 2023 will be held on Saturday (14/10) evening WIB. Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan will face the winner of Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen vs Lee Yang/Wang Chi-lin.
