TRIBUNNEWS.COM, SINGAPORE – A man Bangladesh 31 years old can kill his Indonesian girlfriend because of an affair.

The Straits Times reported Tuesday (15/9/2020), the perpetrator could be sentenced to death for his actions.
The man named Ahmed Salim was tried in Singapore High Court, for killing domestic worker (PRT) Nurhidayati Wartono Surata, at the Golden Dragon Hotel room in Geylang, Singapore, on the evening of December 30, 2018.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Hay Hung Chun accused Ahmed of intending to kill Nurhidayati, who was 34 at the time, on the grounds that the perpetrator carried a rope when he met that day.

“He has kept the rope since he caught sight of the late’s new relationship on December 9, 2018,” Deputy Public Prosecutor Hay Hung Chun was quoted as saying in The Straits Times.
But Ahmed’s lawyer Eugene Thuraisingam argues that his client has been provoked by the woman who allegedly said, “Other men are better than you in bed and better off financially.”
Nurhidayati also said he threatened to make a video in the following week if Ahmed did not believe it. The lawyer then claimed that Ahmed was mentally ill, so his sentence should be commuted
But the deputy public prosecutor dismissed Ahmed’s claim by saying the word was “made-up” and the perpetrator was not eligible for sentencing.
Chronology
According to court documents, Ahmed and Nurhidayati worked for a family in Serangoon, Singapore, and started their romance in May 2012 after meeting.
