Indonesian Citizens Should Be More Alert, Researchers Prove That Covid-19 Can Kill Brain Cells

PR BEKASI – Recent research has revealed how the corona virus can attack and kill cellsbrain cells by reproducing the virus copy itself.

Scientists working together around the world have shown that the virus is robbing cells ofbrain cells and use it to self-replicate in a published study online on this week.

In the process, the viral infection sucks oxygen from the cellsbrain cells others close by brain cells infected who eventually kill the cells.

So far, the effects of the coronavirus on the brain do not appear to be killing infected patients Covid-19, but the researchers said that uncontrolled infection on brain cells could be at risk of death.

Cited by Pikiranrakyat-Bekasi.com from the Daily Mail, Akiko Iwasaki, a Yale University immunologist and teammates used the human brain ‘organoid’, a laboratory-grown brain made of human and mouse stem cells to study the coronavirus invasion firsthand.

In organoids, SARS-CoV-2 does not simply take control brain cells which it attacks but also makes cell work faster.

“The state of infected cells can be seen because the cells enter the hypermetabolic phase and the virus will hijack the cells to replicate or multiply their types,” said Iwasaki.
