Indonesia Wins Three Gold Medals in Chess at Asian Para Games 2023

The Indonesian contingent managed to add three gold medals in Asian Para Games 2023, Saturday (28/10) until 12.30 WIB. The three gold medals were donated entirely by the Indonesian chess team.

Indonesian female chess athlete Khairunnisa succeeded in presenting a gold medal for Indonesia in the chess sport through the Women’s Individual Rapid VI-B2/B3 number.

Nisa achieved the highest points beating Nguyen Thi Hong from Vietnam in second place and Naghavi Mandi Atefeh from Iran in third place. The gold that Nisa won was the 27th gold medal for Indonesia at the 2023 Asian Para Games.

The Indonesian women’s chess team, strengthened by Khairunnisa, Farah Yumna Budiarti, and Aisah Wijayanti Putri Brahmana, also succeeded in presenting a gold medal in the Women’s Team Rapid VI- B2/B3 number on Saturday (28/10).

Farah et al achieved the highest points ahead of the chess team from Iran in second place and Vietnam in third place. The gold won by the Indonesian women’s chess team was the 28th gold medal for the Indonesian contingent.

The Indonesian chess team again contributed a gold medal to Indonesia on Saturday (28/10) afternoon, this time Lilis Herna Yulia, Nasip Farta Simanja, and Yuni succeeded in presenting a gold medal through the Women’s Team Rapid PI number.

Lilis et al achieved the highest points ahead of the chess team from the Philippines in second place and Vietnam in third place. The gold medal won by Lilis et al was the 29th gold medal for Indonesia.

The additional three gold medals meant that the Indonesian contingent as of Saturday (28/10) at 12.37 WIB was in sixth place in the 2023 Asian Para Games standings with 29 gold, 30 silver and 36 bronze medals.
