VIVA – Indonesian citizens can watch day without a shadow from September 6 to October 21, 2021. Shadowless days occur when position Sun is above Indonesia. Thus, no image is formed by an upright, non-hollow object at midday.
Researcher at the Center for Science and Space at the National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (EIGHT), Andi Pangerang, said that Indonesia stretches from 6 degrees north latitude to 11 degrees south latitude and is divided by the equator.
“With a geographical location like this, the Sun will be above Indonesia twice in one year. The first has occurred from late February to early April, while the second will occur from September 6 to October 21,” he said, as quoted from the website. LAPAN, Sunday, September 5, 2021.
