Indonesian national team will face Vietnam in the semifinals AFF Cup 2022. This was confirmed after Vietnam won 3-0 over Myanmar in their final group stage match.
Vietnam managed to clinch Group B champion status after defeating Myanmar by a score of 3-0 at My Dinh Stadium, Hanoi on Tuesday (3/1). While the second position is occupied by Malaysia.
Thus, Vietnam will face Indonesia in the semifinals. While the other semifinal will see Malaysia vs Thailand. Malaysia finished second after winning 4-1 over Singapore.
Indonesia secured qualification for the semifinals for the first time after defeating the Philippines 2-1 in their last match of Group A. Meanwhile, Thailand won 3-1 over Cambodia.
Thailand has the right to win Group A with a goal difference lead over Indonesia, who both have 10 points.
Indonesia will host the first leg against Vietnam for the first time at Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Senayan, Jakarta on Friday (6/1). Three days later, it was Vietnam’s turn to host Indonesia at My Dinh Stadium.

While the other semi-finalists, Thailand, will visit Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the first time on Saturday (7/1). Three days later, it will be Malaysia’s turn to visit Bangkok, Thailand.
The final will also take place in a two-leg format. The first match will start on January 13 and the second match will take place on January 16, 2023.
