Victory Indonesia oppose Vietnam opens up hope for the Garuda Squad to qualify for the last 16 2023 Asian Cup. Indonesia is temporarily entrenched at the top of the third best team standings.
In the match at Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, Doha, Friday (19/1/2024), Indonesia won 1-0 against Vietnam through Asnawi Mangkualam’s single goal.
Asnawi’s penalty execution, after a violation from a Vietnamese player in the forbidden box, not only changed the score to 1-0 in the 42nd minute. This goal also ensured that the Garuda Squad won three points.

With 3 points, Indonesia is now in third place 2023 Asian Cup standings in Group D. Equivalent to Japan’s achievements, which on the second matchday suffered a 1-2 defeat at the hands of Iraq.
