The total of 60 gold medals is the target carried out by Menpora Dito Ariotedjo before the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia begin. With the hope that Indonesia will be ranked third.
The target of 60 gold was achieved. Now the Red and White contingent only has to live up to the expectations conveyed by President Joko Widodo, namely to win 69 gold to occupy first or second place in the medal standings.
President Jokowi conveyed this target to the Indonesian contingent during his departure before flying to Cambodia.
“I’m just ordering, at the Vietnam SEA Games we won 69 gold medals and we were ranked third. Now, it should be more than that. I want the gold to be above 69, the ranking is also above three,” said President Jokowi at the Presidential Palace.
Hearing the President’s target, Dito Ariotedjo said he was ready to achieve this target.
“Yes, that has been directed by the highest leadership, our commander-in-chief, so we as soldiers will try our best to achieve this target,” said Dito at the Jakarta Presidential Palace, Tuesday (2/5).
