Indonesia faced South Korea in the quarterfinals Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championship 2023. The Red-White rely on the double sector to steal victory.
Fajar Alfian Cs progressed to the last eight after winning Group C in the preliminary phase which took place at the Dubai Exhibition Center, on Thursday (16/2/2023).
They finished it by beating Thailand 3-2. This result also brought Indonesia to the knockout round. Indonesia will face South Korea in the next round.
PBSI Binpres Head, Rionny Mainaky, said that to face South Korea today, Indonesia would deploy its best strength.
“We will use our best strength in the quarter-finals against South Korea. Because in the quarter-finals which use a knockout system, we must be vigilant,” said Rionny in a written statement, Friday (17/2/2023).
“You can’t take it for granted. You can’t try again. Moreover, the strength of the 8 teams that qualified for the quarter-finals, I think the quality is even,” he said.
The former head coach of the Japanese national team also said that facing South Korea did not mean that his team would benefit. Because, the quality of the country which is famous for its K-pop is also good.
