Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Martin stepped into the finals Indonesia Masters 2023 after beating Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi (Japan) with a score of 18-21, 21-17, 21-3 in 1 hour 4 minutes.
Playing at Istora Senayan, Saturday (28/1), Leo/Daniel faced fierce resistance from Hoki/Kobayashi. They trailed 3-6 early in the first game, but managed to close the gap to 10-11 at the interval.
But after the break, Hoki/Kobayashi appeared more consistent. Coming from behind 11-13, the Japanese duo got up and turned ahead 14-13. Even though Leo/Daniel put up a fierce fight 17-17, Hoki/Kobayashi finally won 21-18 in the first game.
In the second game, Leo/Daniel appeared more consistent. After winning 11-9 at the interval, they continued to maintain their advantage until 14-12. But after that, Hoki/Kobayashi turned around winning 15-14.
Even though they were left behind, Leo/Daniel were not pressured and got up. They clinched five straight points to take a 19-15 lead, and eventually won 21-17. In the third game, their dominance increasingly unstoppable.
Leo/Daniel immediately led 6-1, and closed the interval with a score of 11-2. After the break, they only gave Hoki/Kobayashi one additional point, and won the 10 points needed to win 21-13.
Now Leo/Daniel is just waiting for the opponent in the final. They will meet the winner of the duel between Chinese representatives between Liu Yu Chen / Ou Xuan Yi vs He Ji Ting / Zhou Hao Dong.
