The largest video game developer conference in Southeast Asia or Indonesia Game Developer Xchange (IGDX) is being held again in Bali. The conference, which brings together 250 game developers and international investors, targets business transactions and investments worth US$ 1 million.
“We actually don’t have a target value. However, we hope that in the next few months we can get a deal of US$ 500 thousand to US$ 1 million,” said Agate International Chief Strategy Officer Cipto Adiguno to detikBali, Friday (13/10/2023 ).
Cipto explained that the conference for business and video game industry players aims to achieve a number of things. Namely facilitating Indonesian video game makers or developers to get relationships and business deals.

Including, getting investors who will participate in developing video game products made by local developers. At this conference, video game developers also had the opportunity to establish connections and collaborate with book publishers who usually review video game products.
“To date, around a thousand people have come. There are two sections of them. There is a business section that (holds) a meeting to get a deal (business agreement). Well, today is the conference,” said Cipto.
Cipto did not mention how many Indonesian video game developers had established business with investors or publishers. What is certain is that he hopes that with the meetings and conferences between video game developers and business people, there will be many investors who invest with Indonesian video game developers.
Either investors use the services of domestic video game production workers or invest in their products.
“Usually, the (business) format in the video game (industry) world is that they invest in video games. They give money up front. Later when the video game is sold, they share the profits,” he explained.
