“Indonesia dominates wushu at SEA Games 2023 with 20 medals, including 8 golds”

BOLASPORT.COM – Indonesia’s medal coffers continue to increase until the SEA Games 2023 Cambodia completes its seventh day of implementation.

The Indonesian team was able to win 20 medals throughout Friday (12/5/2023) with details of 8 gold, 9 silver and 3 bronze.

Wushu is the most fertile sport for Indonesia after scoring five gold medals in just one day.

Edgar Xavier Marvelo won gold for Indonesia from the taolu (art) number, namely the men’s chanquan with the highest score of 9.73.

The medal faucets seemed to keep flowing after the four athletes who appeared in sanda (match) scored similar achievements.

They are Tharisa Dea Florentina (52 kg female), Admiral Pandu Pratama (52 kg male), Bintang Reindra Nada Guitara (56 kg male), and Rosa Beatrice Malau (45 kg female).

Five gold on the last day of the wushu competition ensured overall champion status for Indonesia in this sport.

Overall the Indonesian wushu team won 6 gold, 6 silver, 2 bronze medals.

This is the first time that Merah Putih has become the overall champion in wushu at the SEA Games since the same success in the 2011 Jakarta-Palembang edition.
