Indonesia conceded every time Rachmat Irianto didn’t play

Hanoi

Rachmat Irianto do not play at the moment Indonesian national team lost 0-2 y Vietnam. Garuda conceded again when the players Persib Bandung is absent.

The steps of the Indonesian national team finally stopped in the semifinals AFF Cup 2022. A 0-2 second leg defeat by Vietnam at My Dinh Stadium, Hanoi on Monday (01/09/2023) saw Garuda lose 0-2 on aggregate, after the sides drew 0-0 in the first leg , Friday (6 /1).

This is the first time Indonesia have conceded more than one goal in this edition of the event. Previously, Indonesia had conceded a maximum of one goal against Cambodia, Thailand and the Philippines.

Interestingly, all of these goals were scored when Irianto wasn’t on the pitch. He was only absent once as Indonesia beat Cambodia 2-1 in their opening match.

Then when Thailand broke into the national team and won a draw it also happened when Irianto was not on the pitch. Sarach Yooyen scored a long-range goal in the 79th minute to make it 1-1, four minutes after Irianto’s exit.

Previously, the national team won 1-0 from a Marc Klok penalty early in the second half. The goal scored by the Filipinos is the most unusual, because it came a minute before Irianto was played in the 83rd minute on Monday (2/1).

Sebastian Rasmussen burst into Syahrul Trisna’s goal in the same minute. Indonesia won 2-0 first with Dendy Sulistawan and Marselino Ferdinan.

Irianto was played so that Garuda could better defend himself by holding the 2-1 lead until the end of the match.

And finally, the Vietnam goals occurred again when Garuda was without Irianto who didn’t show up at all. Nguyen Tienh Linh scored two quick goals in each half.

As for Irianto, he made four appearances during the AFF Cup this time around. He played 75 minutes against Thailand, seven minutes against the Philippines, 90 minutes against Brunei and 81 minutes against Vietnam in the first leg of the semi-final.

Irianto has been traced as a defensive midfielder in the Indonesia national team who has proven to provide balance to the team. For example, his first appearance at this edition of the event came as the Indonesian national team won 7-0 over Brunei.

By field soccer records, Irianto was the player with the most tackles eight times in that game. In addition, he is also the player with the most success in throwing 48 passes.

Irianto’s stats weren’t that important against Thailand. Likewise against the Philippines because they only played seven minutes.

Irianto’s final appearance against Vietnam in the semi-finals of the first leg was also not that big. Center fielding duo Fachruddin Aryanto and Rizky Ridho who showcased their record with the most interceptions (Fachruddin 10 times) and sweeps (Ridho five times).

However, it remains undeniable that all the goals against Indonesia have come when Irianto was not playing. Either parked because Indonesia wants to play more offensive or Rachmat Irianto that’s no good.
