Indonesia Breaks 300 Medals and Feels Comfortable at Puncak, Malaysia…

KOMPAS.com – Indonesian contingent still dominant as the leader of the standings ASEAN For Games 2022 until Friday (5/8/2022).

Indonesia sits in first place in the ASEAN Para Games standings after collecting a total of 309 medals.

Citing information from CdM Indonesia, the details of the Red and White contingent’s acquisition were 133 gold medals, 102 silver and 74 bronze medals for the 2022 ASEAN Para Games.

Thailand is right under Indonesia. The country of the White Elephant is in second place after obtaining a total of 228 medals with details of 84 gold, 89 silver and 55 bronze.

Meanwhile, Vietnam and Malaysia are in third and fourth place respectively in the standings ASEAN Para Games medals 2022.

Vietnam has a total of 153 medals, while Malaysia has collected 44 medals to date.

Indonesia’s success in winning gold cannot be separated from the struggles that have been made by the Red and White athletes.

One of them came from athletes in the para-athletic sport number wheelchair racing or wheelchair racing, namely, Maria Goreti Samiyati.

Maria Goreti Samiyati became Indonesia’s representative who competed in the women’s 400 meters in the T54 branch wheelchair racing ASEAN For Games 2022.

Competing at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, on Thursday (4/8/2022), Maria managed to finish first and won a gold medal.

Maria Goreti said she was happy to win a gold medal at the 2022 ASEAN Para Games.

“So happy, can’t say. Anyway very happy. This medal is for everyone, for Indonesia,” said Maria to the media crew including Kompas.com.
