Indonesia and Saudi Arabia plan to build an Al-Quran Printing House to support the high demand for Qurans in Indonesia.

Indonesia’s Religious Affairs Minister, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, and Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador, Faisal Abdullah Al Amudi, have discussed several bilateral projects between the two countries, including plans to build an Al-Quran printing house. The project is designed to support the high demand for the Quran amongst Indonesians. The Saudi printing process is known for its high quality. The location of the new building has not yet been determined. Other issues discussed included the “fast track” programme designed to speed up the process of Indonesian hajj pilgrims arriving in Saudi Arabia. Yaqut expressed the hope that Indonesia would be allocated at least two more fast tracks, given the sheer scale of its pilgrimages.
