Indomie Noodles Recall: Nigeria’s National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) Plans Independent Tests

Indomie Noodles Under Scrutiny for Safety Concerns: Nigeria Responds

Following the recent recalls of Indomie’s “special chicken” flavour noodles in Malaysia and Taiwan due to the detection of ethylene oxide, Nigerian authorities are conducting independent tests on the product. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is set to verify the claims made by its counterparts in Malaysia and Taiwan to ensure compliance with global food safety regulations. In response to the allegations, Indofoods, the Indonesian company responsible for manufacturing Indomie, has stated that its noodles have received standard certifications and are produced in compliance with international food safety regulations. Despite assurances from the manufacturers, Nigeria, one of the largest consumers of instant noodles, is expected to take a position on the safety of Indomie in the coming days.
