Indiscriminate Weapon Riot and Threats in Seohyeon-dong: Police Investigation Underway

<사진=독자제공/연합뉴스> Yesterday (3rd), when an indiscriminate weapon riot occurred in Seohyeon-dong, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do, posts warning of committing similar crimes were posted one after another on the Internet, and the police began an investigation.

The first post reads, “On Friday, August 4, between 6pm and 10pm, I’m going to do a knife fight near Ori Station. I have no desire to live anymore, I’m going to kill as many people as I can and kill the cops. I’ll kill as many as I can before I kill myself.” is the content.

The reason for choosing Ori Station on the Suin Bundang Line as the place of the crime was “Because my ex-girlfriend lives nearby. I hope someone you know dies.”

The article was widely spread through online communities such as Mom Cafe in Bundang, and a report was also filed with the police.

The second post was posted at 7:09 pm on the same day.

The post attached a picture of the weapon and wrote, “I’m going to stab 20 handsome guys on Friday at Seohyeon Station.”

After the first report was received at 6:42 pm yesterday at the 112 General Situation Room of the Gyeonggi Southern Police Agency, a number of related reports have been received.

The police deployed patrol cars and riot police vehicles around Ori Station and Seohyeon Station to prepare for emergencies, while also launching an investigation into the original publishers of the articles.
