Indie Developer Announces New House Building Game ‘SUMMERHOUSE’ for PC (Steam) – Release Date, Gameplay, and More!

Indie developer Friedemann Allmenröder announced on January 23rd that he will be creating a house building game calledSUMMERHOUSE” was announced to be released on March 8th. The supported platform is PC (Steam). The game supports Japanese display.

“SUMMERHOUSE” is a work where you can enjoy the freedom of building a home. You can build a house from scratch in a variety of environments, including an island floating in the sea, a corner of a city, or a plateau surrounded by mountains. It’s not a full-fledged building simulation game, but rather features gameplay that allows you to intuitively design a house in a relaxed atmosphere with no rules or restrictions.

The gameplay screen is in side view format, and you select building parts from the menu on the left side of the screen and place them wherever you like. The menu includes items such as walls, roofs, doors, and windows, as well as decorative items such as signboards, flower pots, and outdoor air conditioner units, and natural objects such as trees and rocks, each with multiple designs and types of parts. There is no need to think about difficult things such as structural correctness; just judge the appearance and place the parts, and the house will be completed. Also, as you place parts, parts with figures on them will be unlocked.

The menu also includes tools to copy placed parts and tools to randomly extract parts. Not only can you slowly build the house of your dreams, but you can also have fun creating a house using random parts. Each part drawn with pixel art has a certain warmth to it that blends well with the dazzling summer sky.

The map has a certain amount of space on both sides and can be scrolled, so it is possible to build a number of houses and create a small townscape. If you place trees, bushes, rocks, etc., the landscape will change completely. In addition to this, this game also has a function that displays animations in the order in which parts are placed. It seems useful when sharing results on SNS etc.

The developer of this game, Friedemann Allmenröder, is known as the co-founder of GrizzlyGames, which has worked on games such as “ISLANDERS” and “Superflight.” Last year, he also received high praise for “Pizza Possum” released on the newly established Cozy Computer, and this work “SUMMERHOUSE” was produced on his own while working on those works.

“SUMMERHOUSE” is a PC (Steam) Scheduled to be distributed on March 8th. A trial version is also available on Steam.
