indictment for a suspected repeat offender

A 32-year-old man suspected of having organized a clandestine party in Ivry-sur-Seine (Val-de-Marne) this weekend with more than 100 people despite the curfew, was indicted on Tuesday evening, said the Créteil prosecutor’s office on Wednesday.

According to a source close to the investigation, the man is also suspected of having participated in the organization of a clandestine party in Joinville-le-Pont in mid-November, an evening which had hit the headlines by bringing together between 300 and 400 people, despite confinement restrictions.

Placed under judicial supervision

At this stage, however, the two cases of Ivry and Joinville, two towns located about ten kilometers south-east of Paris, constitute “two different procedures” underlined the Créteil prosecutor’s office.

In the Ivry case, the 32-year-old man, unknown to the police, was indicted on charges of “endangering the lives of others”, “carrying out hidden work” and “irregular opening of an establishment receiving the public in a district in a state of health emergency”.

He was placed under judicial supervision.
