India’s Fuel Consumption Reaches 7-Month High: Ministry of Energy Report

The Indian Ministry of Energy revealed that India’s fuel consumption in December 2023 is at the level of 20.054 million tons, an increase of 6.2% from the level of 18.89 million tons in November. The amount of fuel consumption in December was the highest level in 7 months.

If compared with the level of December 2022, India’s fuel consumption in December 2023 increased by approximately 2.6%.

Sales of bitumen, or bitumen, used to make roads, increased 12.9%, while fuel use increased 9.6% in December.

In addition, sales of cooking gas or liquefied petroleum gas, increased 5.6% to reach 2.63 million tons, while naphtha sales increased 27.9% to reach 1.33 million tons.
