Director Pragabhal says that Muddy was born out of a love for adventure and off-road racing. Pragabhal is a person who has been closely associated with sports for a long time. The film is also the result of his five years of research. Pragabhal says the film is mainly about animosity between different teams and includes revenge, family, humor and adventure. The director added that he has trained the lead actors in off road racing for two years. Dupes are not used in the film.
The director’s biggest challenge was to introduce sports like mud racing to the audience without losing the excitement. It took about a year to find the locations of the film. Ravi Basroor has done music through KGF, San Lakesh has done editing through Rakshasan Cinema and KG Ratheesh has done cinematography in Hollywood.
