– India has approved a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine jointly developed by AstraZeneca-Oxford University, Reuters reported on the 1st (local time). Prior to India, countries that approved AstraZeneca-Oxford University’s Corona 19 vaccine were the UK, Argentina, and El Salvador.
This is the first time that the Corona 19 vaccine has been approved in India, the second largest corona19 confirmed in the world after the US. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the cumulative number of corona19 confirmed cases in India is 1.28 million. The number of Corona 19 deaths was about 149,000, the third after the United States and Brazil.
India will soon begin vaccinating AstraZeneca corona19, according to Reuters. In India, Serum Institute (SII), the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer, has been conducting clinical trials of AstraZeneca vaccine, and it is reported that it has already produced 50 million vaccines. India has designated about 300 million people, including medical staff, soldiers, and the elderly, as priority targets.
Indian authorities are considering urgent use of the Pfizer-Bioentech Corona 19 vaccine following the AstraZeneca Corona 19 vaccine, Reuters reported.
